Self-Run Will Decoction Opioid-induced Constipation Clinical Observation

This paper summarizes the understanding and treatment of the TCM for cancer patients taking opioid-induced constipation.Constipation is one of the high incidence of symptoms by taking opioids.The clinical incidence is over90%,accompanied by a series of discomfort,and seriously affecting the qualityof life of patients.This study analyzed the Western medicine and TCM cardliterature on this disease, by comparatively analysying, we found that TCM already accumulated a wealth of experience and the treatment methods and achieved good clinical effect. According to modern meidicine, The main pathogenes is inadequate fluid,energy-disorders, Western medicine explained that opioid constipation is a result of the role which opioids interupt the nerve system in the body. Then this effection leads to the enteric nervous after muscle glands,causing inintestinal transitdisorders. Basing on years of clinical experience,instructor Wang Zemin physician, used self-made Herb tea party Runbt for these patients and achieved good effection.For further research, we present the study to observe its clinical effecton.Methods:67casesment are randomly divided into treatment group and control group, treatment group of34patients are supplied with Runbt, while the33patient of control group with oral lactulosewas,They are observed3weeks,2weeks for treatment and lweek for reviewing,each week their constipation symptoms, accompanied symtomss and quality of lifet are recorded.The result are analysised by statistical methods and draw conclusions.Result:1.Both groups can improve constipation after treatment.The contol group shows no significant improvement inaccompanyed symptoms and quality of life,while the treatment group,both associated symptoms and quality of life have improved.2.The two groups show no significant difference in improving constipation after one week and two,but one week after stopping the treatment, the treatment group is better than the control one (P<0.05).As to the improvement of concomitant symptoms and quality of life, treatment group is better.3.There is no significant difference in defecation interval(P<0.05)between the two group during the trial.After one week and two, the treatment group is better than the control one in shortening the time of defecation.(P<0.05).In terms of improving the stool shape,the treatment group shows better after1week stoping the treatment(P<0.05).The treatment group is better than the control one in reducing the difficulty of defecation,(P<0.05)4.Treatment efficiency: In the end,30cases are chosen in the treatment group,while the control group left30effective cases. In the treatment group,11cases were cured,8cases markedly effective,10cases were effective,one was no effective, the total efficiency is96.67%.In the control group among30cases,0cases were cured,3cases markedly effective,10cases were effective,17cases was no effective.The total efficiency is43.3%.In addition,patients treated with Runbt shows improvement in accompanying symptoms and quality of life, which is better than the control one.Conclusion:1Runbt can effectively relieve constipation caused by opioids.2Both Runbt and Lactulose and can improve the symptoms of constipation, but the Runbt is more efficient than the later.3Runbt can not only relieve the symptoms of constipation, but also significantly ease the associated symptoms and improve the quality of life.4Runbt and Lactulose have no significant effect on the efficacy of oral opioids.
