1. ObjectiveExplore the mechanism of the sword-like needle in treatment of peripheral nerve tension pain. Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the sword-like needle therapy. It can provide experimental basis for the clinical application and promotion of the sword-like needle therapy.2. Methods2.1Making animal modelThe80Wistar rats were randomly divided into5groups, each group of16. Group A:Don’t do any processing; Group B:Appropriate free bilateral saphenous nerve of rats, don’t do the nerve entrapment processing; Group C:With inner diameter of0.5mm silicone tube compress the bilateral saphenous nerves in rat; Group D:With inner diameter of0.4mm silicone tube compress the bilateral saphenous nerves in rat; Group E:With inner diameter of0.3mm silicone tube compress the bilateral saphenous nerves in rat. A month later, randomly selected from each group in half for saphenous nerve gross morphology observation and electrophysiological detection.2.2The sword-like needle treatmentAfter the models established successfully, don’t do any treatment on rats of group A. Treatment of the remaining eight rats in each group with the sword-like needle, once a week, a total of three weeks. After treatment, did the gross morphology observation and electrophysiological detection with the remaining eight rats in each group.3. ResultsAfter treatment with sword-like needle, nerve conduction velocity was improved in B、C、D groups (P<0.05), it indicated that sword-like needle therapy is effective in B, C, D groups. In group A the difference is not obvious (P>0.05)between before and after treatment. Group E still did not lead to action potential after treatment, showed that group E nerve damage is serious, sword-like needle treatment is invalid. After sword-like needle therapy, Compared with A, B two groups P>0.05, there was no statistically significant difference. It indicated that the difference of nerve conduction velocity is not obvious between A, B two groups. Compared with B、C two groups P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant. The nerve conduction velocity was improved before sword-like needle treatment in B、C two groups, but the group C is less than group B. Compared with C、D two groups P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant. The nerve conduction velocity was improved before sword-like needle treatment in C、D two groups, but the group D is less than group C. The experiment results show that the sword-like needle treatment have a certain effect on the nerve damage of cutaneous nerve entrapment. But with the reduction of the silicone tube diameter, the pressure was increased, the nerve damage degree was aggravating, the curative effect of sword-like needle will decrease accord ingly. When nerve injury is serious and cause irreversible damage, sword-like needle treatment is invalid.4. ConclusionThe sword-like needle in treatment of peripheral nerve tension pain, have no need to anesthesia, small trauma, painless, less intraoperative tissue around the nerve injury, postoperative neurological forms around the small scar, accurate positioning, release more fully, symptoms improved significantly. The sword-like needle therapy which is a safe, simple, curative effect, easy to promote is a new therapy. Its emergence index for clinical common disease of pain opened up a new train of thought. It is suitable for widely applied at the grassroots level.
