Objective: This article is to research the relative possible factors, which are basedon the detection of CTGF expression characteristics in pharyngeal tissue and bloodserum, in obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) patients. Furthermore, this dissertation will investigate the relationship between the CTGF level in pharyngealtissue and blood serum with condition degree and clinical index in the patients withOSAHS. This research paper is to probe the effect of CTGF on the pathogenesis ofOSAHS in the vicious cycle of hypoxia-CTGF elevated-pharynx stenosis. The resultis to provide new theoretical basis etiology diagnosis and treatment of OSAHS.Methods: Based on apnea hypopnea index (AHI) measured by PSG,50patientswith OSAHS were divided into mild&moderate OSAHS group (n=30), and severeOSAHS group (n=20). The control group is the patients with the chronic tonsillitis (n=25). The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays are amplified to study the expression ofCTGF in the serum concentration of OSAHS patients and non-OSAHS in early morning. All subjects were guided finish whole sleep monitoring by PSG in order to get morerelevant indicators. These indicators and the serum concentrations of CTGF wereanalyzed. The immunohistochemical S-P method techniques are amplified to study theexpression of CTGF in the pharyngeal tissue of two group patients by light microscopeobserving the morphological changes of two group specimen. The electron microscopeobserves the morphological changes of the organelle.Result: The positive rate is60%(18∕30) of CTGF in mild&moderate OSAHSgroup, and it is90%(18∕20) in severe OSAHS group. The control group is24%(6∕25). The finding shows that there are significant differences among the mild&moderateOSAHS group and the control group, the severe OSAS group and the control group, themild and moderate OSAS group and the severe OSAS group (p<0.05). The serumconcentrations of CTGF in the OSAHS patients, the finding shows that there aresignificant differences among the mild&moderate OSAHS group and the control group, the severe OSAS group and the control group, the mild and moderate OSAS group and the severe OSAS group (p<0.05).Conclusion: The level of CTGF in the serum concentration of OSAHS patients isobviously higher than control group in early morning. The experimental research showsthat the level of the CTGF content in the palatine pharyngeal tissue of OSAHS isobviously higher than that in the control group. And the pharyngeal tissue appeared thecapillary hyperplasia and edema in the OSAHS patients. The results show that the CTGFplays an important role in the OSAHS, but the specific mechanism still needs furtherresearch.
