[Objective] To study the relationship beween bionomics of colonic polyps and TCM syndrome features. in patients of constipation.[Methods] The data of colonic polyps cases from the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region from2003to2009were analyzed retrospectively.568polyp patients with constipation were detected from a total of1198cases. and their clinical data including the TCM syndrome features, the gender, the age, the size, location, munbers, growth pattern and pathological characteristics were analyzed.[Results] Most of colonic polyps occur in aged41-88years (92.0%), among them, those with size more than1.0cm are38.5%, recurrence19.0%, inflammation47.5%, hyperplasia0.17%, Tubular adenomatous polyps accounted for36.9%, the villous adenoma12.0%, and cancer4.0%. TCM accounted for the Yang and constipation occupy44.5%of polyps,47.0%of the size more than1.0cm,58.7%of the villous adenoma,43.4%of the cancer,50.0%of recurrence, there were significant differences compare to constipation due to deficiency of vital energy (27.8%、26.4%、25.3%、17.3%、25.0%)、constipation due to deficiency of yin (15.3%、18.9%、12.6%、17.3%、13.8%)、constipation due to qi depression (12.1%、2.8%、3.1%、21.7%.11.2%)(P<0.01). The incidence rate of polyp increased with age, the most common is the age>60years.[Conclusion] There are high incidence rate, biger sise, lower differentiation, more cancerization, easy recurrence of the polyps in the patients with Deficiency of spleen and kidney yang. Yang deficiency is an important cause of colonic polyps. Warming Yang and removing stasis may be one of the important ways of prevention and cure of colorectal polyps.
