| Purpose:A textual research of the Huangdi’s Inner Canon can exert a direct influence on our understanding of its theory. For this reason, in this paper the nouns in relation to blood syndrome in this ancient work are selected and researched textually in such respects as literature, connotation in the text, disease cause and mechanism, relative controversies.Method:The textual research in this paper is made with the methods of character pattern, outside proofreading and reasoning proofreading. Starting with the study on the origin of the characters, firstly I make sure their initial meaning. The through referring to the ancient works concurrent with and before the Inner Canon, these nouns’ prevalent designations at that time are explored. Finally, the nouns are analyzed in the context of Inner Canon to help us understand their medical connotations and application principles.Conclusion:31nouns pertinent to blood syndromes are studied in this research, concluding that although the medical works before Han Dlynasty have been thoroughly lost, the phrase "blood syndromes" didn’t appear until Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases, in which it was initially proposed, and in General Treatise on the Cause and Symptoms of Diseases, it was listed exclusively as blood diseases. Some nouns in Inner Canon have not developed into the terminologies for diseases such as drown blood, blood stool and blood vomit, but they are used as independent symptoms. |
