With the rapid development of Internet technology and communications technology, the traditional battery charging systems and controls can not adapt the needs of today’s society.For traditional battery charge and discharge system and its control method, battery system are still seriously hindered due to the limitations of the amounts of controls,the cumbersome and complex process during the control engineering and high cost.At the same time,such a communication control waste resources extremely. CAN bus technology as a field bus technology, exhibit a high security performance,powerful function and low cost. It is widely used in various control areas such as industrial control, automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering, security monitoring, medical equipment and building automation.Because the superior performance of CAN bus technology, it used in intelligent system of battery formation system is desirable. With the advantages of security, stability and low cost in CAN bus technology.In this paper,combined CAN bus technology and PIC micro-controller technology,a study about the reliability of safety, the real-time of system, high control accuracy in battery charge and discharge control system. It has overcame the disadvantages of charge and discharge control system,while improving efficiency and reducing the use of fewer resources.According to requirements of control system,each module’s functions is considered that battery formation system are made of host, control cabinets and control node.First, this paper introduces the development and research background of the battery formation system which including whole structure and node design.It also describes development of CAN bus technology such as CAN bus topology’s characteristics and comparison with other bus technologies.Second, the paper focuses on node design,software flow of node,each function modules’software flow and the system gateway module’s task flow of the battery formation system.Paper describes how to achieve nodes function,hardware circuit design and production of circuit board in detail. It also presents the hardware design principle and realization of control cabinet and underlying communication part based on PIC micro-controller.The data analysis to whole system in charging and discharging process.Finally, the paper summarized the whole system,and make the follow-up program to improve inadequate of system.
