Abstract/Summary:
In order to ease traffic congestion pressure, many cities will develop public transport as a key project, Especially..vigorously developing high-capacity, high-quality modes of public transport in many cities get attention. Now, Subway, light rail public transport backbone network for the operating carrier has many of the detailed study at home and abroad. However, few studies on BRT backbone network. Especially combined fast public transportation network and its operating mode is still in its infancy, in this paper,Firstly, macro analysis the backbone of public transport network. In this context,Then make a specific analysis of bus rapid transit backbone network Especially the Combined BRT networks. And find their strengthsCombined BRT networks usually refer to the combination of the principal lines and the branch lines. The former usually enjoys bus transit lane to guarantee the stability and relatively high speed of operation, the latter, on the other hand, fall into the same operation mode as the former when they overlap with each other and work in the ways as regular buses when they do not overlap. This thesis gives special attention to the planning methods of using combined lines to plan the public transportation networks. It covers the forms of the backbone networks, different operation modes, and so on, and summaries the planning methods of BRT networks by combing surfaces, lines and points. Besides, the thesis evaluates combined lines network programs from five different points, including:(1) agreement ratio of city layout;(2) accessibility;(3) ratio of nonlinear lines;(4) total operation mileage;(5) total operation cost. Among the five mentioned points, accessibility is the core point of this thesis, which can be seen by many indicators, such as the average times of transfer, ratio of access, ratio of free transfer at the same stop towards the same direction in a community and of passengers..All these factors can reflect the accessibility and convenience of the transit network. Finally, the thesis uses the public transit network planning of Changde city as a study case to discuss the specific processes of planning and evaluating BRT networks. At the same time, the thesis compares the three different transit network programs of the first BRT line in Lianyungang city to select the best one.
