Hydrophobe-modified Ethoxylated Urethane(HEUR) is a type of high efficient hydrophobic association thickener, has its own low viscosity, thickening ability, good stability, not easy to mold and other characteristics, widely used in paint, ink, adhesives, leather and paper industries, the type of waterborne polyurethane association thickener research is a significant thing.In this paper, the synthesis of Hydrophobe-modified Ethoxylated Urethane and performance was studied, and the selection of synthetic raw materials diisocyanate, types of polyethylene glycol, the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol (PEG), chain extension agent, sealing agent, solvent and catalyst and so on, and the selection of synthetic technological conditions such as synthetic process conditions, temperature, raw material ratio, finally it is concluded that the synthesis optimal reaction conditions of Hydrophobe-modified Ethoxylated Urethane:with acetone as solvent, the tin lauric acid as the catalyst, raw material n(HDI):n(PEG-6000):n(1,4-butanediol):n(cetyl alcohol) ratio of2:1:1:2, pre-polymers reaction under the condition of70℃for four hours, sealing and reaction temperature is75℃,6hours.On synthesis of Hydrophobe-modified Ethoxylated Urethane performance characterization, the performance of home-made Hydrophobe-modified Ethoxylated Urethane and the abroad of thickening agent performance has a small gap.
