| Today, the issue of global warming is becoming a most serious environmentalproblem than ever before, energy conservation and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissiondecrease is an inevitable choice for the sustainable economic development for Chinesegovernment. In total carbon dioxide emissions from human activities, the carbon dioxidegenerated by cement production accounts for about5percent, while China is the world’slargest cement producer which accounts for50%of the world’s total cement production.Building up a reasonable GHG emission quantification method is of great importance forthe government’s implement of energy saving economic development and of prettyconvenience for cement enterprises to quantify and verify their GHG emission.In this paper, the official guidelines or standards issued by IPCC, WRI, WBCSD andISO were well studied and were compared with the “Provincial GHG Inventory Guideline(trial)†to find out the differences. Meanwhile, theoretical research and site investigation ofcement production were carried out, a new quantification method were studied and a moreprofessional and suitable quantification and verification system was developed. Adding tothis, the online real-time GHG monitoring module was integrated within the system.The root mean square error and error propagation theory were introduced in toanalyze the results of mass balance quantification method, emission factor quantificationmethod and real-time monitoring quantification method. The conclusion is that massbalance method required least detect projects, most accurate and most stable quantificationresult. It is a convenient, practical, economical, accurate and effective GHG quantificationand verification tool for cement enterprises. |
