This paper studies three aspects using the transfer matrix method.1. The feature of the defect mode was studied by transfer matrix method. It Include:Thevariation of Defect mode with the change of the location of the defect layer,The variation ofDefect mode with the change of the optical thickness of the defect layer,The variation ofDefect mode with the change of the refractive index of the defect layer,The variation of defectmode with Doped some defect layers. Studies show that a PBG range from1180nm to1480nm appeared in the PC.Because of the defect layer doped it Produce a defect mode in thecenter wavelength of1310nm.It can be used as the core of the fiber material,Also can be usedto produce the filter.The defect mode of Photonic crystal changes significantly with tinystresses.And it’s a linear relationship.So it can be used to produce the high sensitivity of thestress sensor.2. Under stress the defect mode’s feature were studied in the case of consideringabsorption.Studies have shown that:When a stress is applied to the axial direction of thephotonic crystal strain is generated. photonic crystal defect mode will move to the left(Smallwavelength direction).The peak of the defect mode and the width at half maximum of defectmode are constant with the change of strain.With the extinction coefficient of the mediumethe lasto-optical coefficient increases the coefficient of mesoscopic piezo-photonic is gettingsmaller and smaller.This provides a theoretical for stress sensor designing.3. We have studied on the defect mode’s feature under external magnetic field. First,wehave studied on the variation of dielectric constant (refractive index) of the magneto-opticalsemiconductor surface accompanied with the external magnetic field.Second, the variation oftransmittance of the defect mode with a external magnetic field is explored via using atransfer matrix method.The results show that:under the conditions of selecting a appropriatestructural parameters and material parameter,it can realize the correlation between thetransmittance of defect mode and the magnetic field,and obtain the transmittance of defect mode Controlled by an external magnetic field.Therefore, the photonic crystal with suchstructure can be applied to the magnetic switch of the narrowband filter.As a new material,The optic characteristic and design of structure of photonic crystalshave important science value and society benefit. It is easy to get the one-dimension photoniccrystals so this have been research by people and become the important problem task in opticdomain in new century...
