In the modern society, knowledge advancement become progressively faster,the only way to keep pace with the times is to keep learning. The CommunistParty of China, as the core of leadership for the cause of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, needs to strengthen self-construction with constant learning. Tostrengthen self-confident of socialism with Chinese characteristics, self-confidentof theory and self-confident of system, the whole nation need to be energetic anddiligent, to study hard, to continuously improve ideological and ethical standardsand to enhance cultural and scientific qualities. Mao Zedong’s Thought ofLearning, as the major part of Mao Zedong’s Thought, is rich, extensive,profound and valuable. During the celebration of the80th anniversary of thefounding of the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, the GeneralSecretary Xi Jinping pointed out:“both the history and reality tell us that learninghas no end as long as social development continues.” By inheriting anddeveloping Mao Zedong’s Thought of learning, we are able to improve the partyand the society in the way that enjoys learning and quick to learn. It has practicesignificance for Chinese nation to build a well-off society.This paper has firstly explained the formation of Mao Zedong’s Thought ofLearning on five aspects: practice base, theoretical base, content, basic featuresand significance value to the cotemporary world. Second, the main content ofMao Zedong’s Thought of Learning has been explained from five aspects:learning content, learning object, learning principle, learning condition andlearning support. Third, this paper has discussed the enrichment and developmentof Mao Zedong’s Thought of Learning made by Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, HuJintao and the new generation collective leading group of CPC. Finally, therealistic significance and the present value of learning and practicing Mao Zedong’s Thought of Learning have been concluded.
