Research On Management Of Public Security Microblogs In Jiangmen

Microblog originated from America in2006. As its initiative website, Twitter hasbecome a hit around the world, attracting not only civilians, but also important politicians andcelebrities. Besides, from the wide application of microblog in developed countries likeBritish and America and the research in this field, we know that the role microblog plays inpolitics cannot be ignored.Likewise, because of its accessibility, mobility, immediacy and interactivity, microblogturns into the most important channel for information dissemination in China. Following thistrend, government agencies, companies and social organizations open their own microblogs.Public security system is a pioneer in using microblog in the online interaction betweengovernment officials and the public. By the end of2012, the number of registered officialgovernment microblogs has reached60,064,26%of which are microblogs of Public Security.Among the15,564microblogs of Public Security, there are1,0152collective microblogs and5,412personal microblogs opened by the policemen and their leaders. On the one hand,microblogs of Public Security has set a good example for other government agencies; on theother hand, the influence that they have brought is much bigger than expected---microblogsof Public Security play an important part in achieving information publication, guiding publicopinion, strengthening communication with the public, improving work efficiency and thepublic image of the Public Security.This thesis is on the newly registered microblogs of Public Security in Jiangmen since2010, analyzing its present status in management, problems and causes. The thesis alsostudies how microblogs of Public Security from home and abroad are made good use of.Finally, suggestions on how to manage microblogs of Public Security in Jiangmen areproposed.
