Abstract:At present, China is in a transitional period that the country is experiencing structural transitions, the reformation of our mechanisms, the adjustments of interests and the changes of people’s perceptions. During this period, the diversification of the economic components and the benefits distribution, the diversification of social life and forms of social organizations as well as jobs and employment in various form resulted in the diversity of people’s senses of value. However, it is the various thoughts that bring a strong impact on the National Defense Students’thinking. And this can also make our value orientation tend to be more diversified. All of this will do harm to the formation of the faith-------serving the country and devoting to national defense. Furthermore, with the deepening of reform and opening up and the continued strengthening of global economic integration, foreign ideas along with economic factors burst into China. Many western hegemonic countries seize this chance to carry out their hegemony in order to achieve the goal of invading China by cultural means. Actually, there is no doubt that these new situations and conditions will bring new challenges to the ideological and political education of Nation Defense Students. At the same time, the new features of National Defense Students’thinking as well as the former problems rooted in the ideological and political education of Nation Defense Students urge the educators to transform the mode of thinking and renovate working methods. These changes are at the purpose of promoting and putting the education of National Defense Students move forward.The system of the national defense students has been established for more than ten years, and since then the ideological and political education of the national defense students has been developing rapidly under the influence of various continuous factors. To sum up, to the innovation of ideological and political education of the national defense students mainly embodied in the following five aspects:first, the innovation of education idea; Second, the innovation of education content; Third, the innovation of education methods; Fourth, the innovation of the education carrier; Fifth, the innovation of education mechanism. These five aspects are not independent, but an interdependent and interactional part as a whole.Innovation is the theme of the era as well as the essence of the development. However, being innovative does not mean making up stories without facts or following one’s subjective imagination. We should follow some principles. Innovation cannot be separated from the facts or created without facts; moreover, Innovation cannot be stuck in the past without opening minds; and innovation cannot be started by abandoning tradition. In a nutshell, innovation should be based on reality and tradition in order to develop. Otherwise, innovation is just water without a source and a tree without roots. Therefore, we need deal with the relationship appropriately between innovation and practice, innovation and tradition, and innovation and learning. Only in this way, can we promote the ideological and political education of national defense students by absorbing the essence of the wisdom of the ancient and modern times.
