Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic gathering areas, ethnic minoritypopulation accounts for the majority. In the population, the ethnicpopulation of about13.07million people, accounting for about60%of the total population.Minority education is the main body of xinjiangeducation,bilingual education is an important part of xinjiang minorityeducation. Xinjiang’s economic and social development of scienceand technology is the key to education is supported. Throughbilingual education,people both can use Chinese to master advancedknowledge of science and technology, and can maintain their nativelanguage and culture.It is the necessary measure to realize leapfrogdevelopment in xinjiang in the new century.With the deepening of the economic and social development inxinjiang, the national communication increasingly close, and theethnic minorities to learn Chinese will also increasingly strong. Underthe guidance of the party’s ethnic policy and education policy,bilingual teaching is steadily promoting in xinjiang. The bilingualeducation is developing in healthly and sustainable.However,thereare many difficulties in bilingual teaching. For example terms ofbilingual teachers, teaching materials, teacher training and so on.Adjust measures to local conditions, the bilingual educationdevelopment planning, increased investment in bilingual education,constantly improve the system of bilingual education mechanism isimperative.This study on Xinjiang at the national Primary and Secondarybilingual education on the basis of field research on the currentbilingual education in Xinjiang ethnic status. The diffieulties andproblems to analyze and propose policy recommend ations with aview to bilingual education of Xinjiang and teaching health, steadypropulsion.
