On The System Of People’s Jurors

The People’s Assessor system is an important political system, judicial system and litigation system in China. It is an important measure ensuring the people’s role as master of the country, exercising the state power and realizing the purpose of judicial work."The decision improving the People’s Assessor system" came into effect on May1,2005, which is an important milestone in the history of our People’s Assessor system. It first standardizes the operation of our People’s Assessor system in the form of a single law, forming the People’s Assessor system with Chinese characteristics. However, because the People’s Assessor system couldn’t influence judiciary in many aspects, reforming and perfecting the People’s Assessor system of our country is inevitable. This article puts forward the plan of perfecting our People’s assessors system in the base of reviewing the historical development of People’s assessors system of our country, comparing the western jury system with People’s assessors system of our country, and combining the presence of People’s assessors system of our country and its existent problems. In this way, it will guarantee powerfully the democracy, justice, harmony and authority of justice.
