| 《Shanghai Pictorial》is outstanding in pictorial field during the period in theRepublic of China,it also provides important historical resource to understand the turbulenttimes for Shanghai between1920s and1930s. Especially the cover girls of 《ShanghaiPictorial》show the new fashion life of Shanghai modern female in new century by usingthe form of intuitive visual,thus promoting fashionable life,disseminating popular culture,and guiding new way of life.My first chapter is the brief introduction of cover girls’subjectidentity,we can analysis the hidden spirit kernel and culture colors of the city bydecomposing their occupation.The second chapter is started with the analyzes of pictureimage elements from cover girls, such as clothing, hair, make-up, gesture,temperament,environment and technical details of photography,which show the change ofurban aesthetic. The third chapter mainly elaborates how cover girls present the the femaleconsumer market and guide the consumer life.Then the last chapter shows a wideextension of Shanghai regional culture in four aspects: Secular,spirit of openness andtolerance, novelty aspiration, commercial means.As a cultural symbol with richconnotation,cover girls has a great influence and significance for consumer development ofcontemporary culture or inheriting and carrying forward Shanghai regional culture. |
