In writing the history of Chinese modern poetry, Wang Rong-bao gets attention forlearning the poetry of Li Shang-yin. Learning the poetry of Li Shang-yin not only bears theweight of the abstraction of modern Xikun School or the poetry school of the Late Tangwhich acts on practicaling the status of the poetry of Wang Rong-bao, but also works inconcert with the inherent spirit of poet-historian of the poetry of Wang Rong-bao. As anoutstanding figure across the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, WangRong-bao had a significant impact in many historical events and his poetry recordedChinese modern history. The development of Chinese modern history and the turbulence ofWang Rong-bao’s official career also affected the style and emotion of the poetry of WangRong-bao. Analysing the spirit of the poetry of Wang Rong-bao by the certificatingbetween poetry and history is the key point across the analysis of the Poetry of WangRong-bao and the difficult point based on gathering document and analyzing text. Theconstruction of the study context of this acticle is to the full range of present the poetryappearance of Wang Rong-bao as the logical pilot and to form of the analysis of collectionof poems, poetics thought, the content of poems and history status of poetry which givesconsideration to some basic questions such as annalistic questions, collecting scatteredpoems, periodization, subject matter, transmission and acception. Exceping for deeperresearch on learning the poetry of Li Shang-yin that is symbolic peculiarity,this paperchanges the visual angle actively to excavate the value of the poetry of Wang Rong-bao toform the base of ulterior intensive study.
