| Since the mid of the20th century, Chinese ceramics have experienced a changefrom "ceramic art" to "contemporary ceramic art". In the1980s, the Chinese pottersstarted to think about questions of "what is modern†and "how to develop modernceramic art ". Since the “85†art trends of thought, the Western modern ceramic art havehad a huge impact in the aesthetic ideas and manifestations of modern ceramic art inChina. Along with frequently international communications in modern ceramic, Chinesepotters gradually developed a deeper and deeper awareness of the modern ceramic art inthe West.This article starts with the current development of Chinese contemporary ceramic art,analyzes the origin and development of Chinese contemporary ceramic art in-depth,dissects aesthetic idea of the modern ceramic art creation and its marketing development,and analyzes carefully about the issues occurred during the development of modernceramic art in China and their causations. This article also discusses on how to seek thestatus and power of Chinese contemporary ceramic art in Chinese culture from theperspective of cultural development, thinks about the merging of Chinese traditionalculture and modern ceramic art and their re-creation and development in the future. Withthe research and exploration of this article, it is expected to come up with a clear contextin the development of modern ceramic art in China, and provide a theoretical basis forfuture developments. |
