The Research Methods Of Emotion

Emotion as a psychological phenomenon has received more and more researchers1attention, since James’s peripheral theory of emotion, the neural mechanisms of emotional problems have begun to get all the attention of the researchers in the field of study, by the1960s, the development of emotion psychology has been widely developed, and after the1980s the experimental research of emotion has become the main research means, and gain a lot of achievements.People’s understanding of the natural and social is more and more profound along with the progress of the methods.Especially in recent years, with the development and progress of science and technology, and the brain research of emotion-related, has become a hot research topic.For example, people use a variety of brain imaging techniques to research emotion and get a number of research results, and make people understand the neural mechanisms of emotion more deeply.But because of the complexity of the emotion itself, it makes the study of emotion work has been quite difficulty, such as the current recognized components of emotion is including physical arousal, subjective experience and external behavior, in order to research emotion accurately, it will need to identify the relationship between the three components of emotion when emotion occurs, at the same time, we know that the three component is not exist independently but influence and mutual restriction each other, so if one want to clear up the the exact relationship between the three components is difficult, even so, the researchers still did not decline the study of emotion, they continue to explore, try and create a lot of theories and methods to study emotions.The emphasis of different theoretical research of emotion is different, so the research methods are also different.Recently, there are more and more researchers begin to pay attention to the study of emotions and the research methods of emotion is continuous innovation, but it lack of works or literatures to study the research methods of emotion systematicly, therefore, the author thinks that it is necessary to carry out the research methods of emotion systematicly in order to providing some reference and guidance to the researchers in this field, so I start to write this study.This research mainly adopts the methods of consulting, collecting and organizing relevant literatures to discuss the research methods of emotion. The author first summarizes the definition and the classification of emotion briefly, and then from the angle of emotion research variables to expounds the research methods of different emotions research orientations, finally from these four aspects that is the inducing methods of emotion, the progress of the stimulate materials of emotion, the measurement methods of emotion, and the research techniques of emotion to discuss the research methods of emotion.
