Our country is full of Buddhist documents, with gradually studied, theirlinguistics value has been highly regarded. The Giant Dictionary of Chinese is acomprehensive historic Chinese language dictionary, and it is also a hot issue inlinguistics. We hope we can find an appropriate entry point that combines both of theresearch, forming a special study perspective. Documentary evidence is a key part ofThe Giant Dictionary of Chinese, which quotes considerable amounts of Buddhistdocuments, hereby, we argue that they can play the part of the entry point.Thedissertation will take the Buddhist documents that are quoted by The Giant Dictionaryof Chinese as the main study material, and research their features and linguistics valuein a macroscopic way.The dissertation will firstly search the Buddhist documentscited from book5to8of The Giant Dictionary of Chinese, then it will mainly studytheir editions, authors&translators, production periods as well as text contents, finallyin view of the omissions in the process of quoting Buddhist documents, thedissertation will provide some recommendations.
