As international cultural exchange deepens, quality literary translation plays a significant role in the communication between different cultures and in the enhancement of translators’ capability in the aforesaid field. In literary translation, the translator appropriately and creatively reproduces the artistic and thematic effect of the original text by employing alternative expressions in the target language which are correspondent to the style of the original text. It is deemed as the goal of translation, criteria of evaluation, and even an essential feature of quality translation work to reproduce the original style in the target language. In the translation of literary work, the aesthetic effect of the original text is reproduced by conveying its content and maintaining its literariness simultaneously. Hence this article boasts valuable meaning in its study of translation practice and theoretical analysis. The author of this thesis conducted the translation of part of Mansfield Park under the guideline of stylistics, and discussed the feasibility and guiding role of stylistics in literature translation.
