In recent years, with the growing ranks of Chinese learning, the individual differences, learning time and purposes of learners are becoming more and more diverse and complex. The long-term traditional academic education can not yet meet the promotion of Chinese in the new situation, and Chinese learners are in favor of flexible, practical and intensive short-term teaching. However, compared to the huge demand for short-term training, the situation of short-term Chinese teaching in China is not satisfactory. To an extent, the problems affected the quality and effectiveness of short-term Chinese teaching.The thesis is divided into five chapters:in chapter one of this paper, the author described the background and reasons, summed up the research and development status of domestic short-term Chinese teaching, and briefly described the class instructional design of the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The second chapter is on the analysis of basic characteristics of short-term Chinese teaching. The author analyzed the features of short-term Chinese teaching from four aspects, teaching objects, teaching cycle, teaching purpose and learning motivation, and explained the problems in teaching,which should be paid attention to. In chapter three, the author analyzed the principles and techniques of class instructional design of short-term Chinese. By interpreting’Chinese Teaching Syllabus for College Foreign Students (Short-term Intensive)’, the author determined to highlight three principles,the practical, fun and situational teaching, in class instructional design of short-term Chinese teaching, and described with teaching. Moreover, the author discussed the skills of designing from four aspects, the introduction of new class, vocabulary instructional design, text explaining and practicing design and game design skills. In chapter four, it is the design case of’I stand treat today’. The author paid attention to communicative and practicality in the design, using a variety of teaching methods such as question and answer method, game method, situational teaching method, so that the characteristics of class teaching of short-term Chinese had been highlighted as possible. In chapter five, it is the conclusion. The author summarized the whole thesis.
