In the numerous Chinese opera works, the most exciting and dramatic effect of opera works is often tragic character in the opera, the ill-fated, mood of sadness and indignation, tragic ending, showed a strong heart collision and conflict, with strong dramatic effect in music expression. The composer more will choose male bass to play such roles. In the field of opera art, male bass with its deep, rich, mellow sound thrilling, male bass sound good, forceful, vigorous heroic feelings, the unique charm of Zheng however sound, full of mystery to the art teaching and a strong inner resonance.Traditionally the male bass role is often neglected, so they often play the stupid fool or clown, or insidious villain and the evil devil, even appeared in the opera series-role types and only some gloomy role. Although in nineteenth Century the opera development, this situation is changing, the role of type rich, but the role of male bass will still in tragedy. This paper mainly bass tragic opera male role as the main research object, in tragedy as the breakthrough point, the focus from the image of music, drama, singing features such as integrated image analysis of such Chinese opera in the role of the works and influence, to provide a theoretical basis for the male bass singer, and made analogical research on Chinese tragic male bass role, to explore the development path and the development direction of male bass tragic role. This paper consists the following four parts:The introduction of the origin and development of tragedy opera in the oriental and internationally are explained.The second part is the opera baritone bass tragic role development and innovation in music-the first analysis of the tragic characters in the male bass and in the opera’s development.
