Research And Application On Traditional Clothing Patterns Of Goutou Yao

Yao is a member of big Chinese family. It has unique charm and its costumes are featured by multitudes of colors, with rich cultural heritage and unique aesthetic value. The research focuses on the characteristics of the Yao traditional costumes, concentrating on their colors, patterns, accessories and handicrafts to explore the approach to integrate Yao traditional patterns in modern visual communication design, and ultimately seeks the creation of a brand and related design works with modern aesthetic and traditional cultural heritage.A nation with so many clothing styles is so rare that the design research value is infinite. However, the current domestic and international academic ignore Yao costumes features, its research and application in modern graphic design theory. Therefore, the study and further application of traditional Yao costumes in this project has significant meaning to the theory and design practice, as it aims to appreciate and enhance the ethnic culture.As a member of Yao, the author would choose the research in her hometown-Hunan Jianghua Yao Autonomous County, this region is mainly dominated by mountains, Yao traditional cultural resources are extreme enormous. The process of this project is mainly based on following aspects:1) Application of colors. Color is the most attractive element, people will usually form some of the profound sense of color, and the initial impression is also eternal.2) Application of the patterns. For any clothing for minority, it is an integral part of the pattern, contain their particular aesthetic and meaning, many patterns are related to the totem worship.3) Accessory applications. Minorities also have unique accessories. They also associated with totem worship, representing people’s believe or memory. 4) Handicraft applications. Handmade art can be described as another major feature of minorities, which play the most incisive and embroidery, and gives a sense of ancient mystery and exotic. The process of clothing production is also unique.The research and visual implementation of traditional Yao clothing elements in this project is mainly divided into the following phases:1) The fieldwork:The field research was conducted by the author in local areas.2) Write survey reports:A comprehensive collection of relevant information for system consolidation was created, from the color, pattern, process and other aspects of the Yao traditional costumes in order to summarize their characteristics.3) The comparison and analysis between modern design and traditional elements:summarized the principles and presentation of traditional elements in a modern aesthetic.4) Design exploration:Interrogated innovative Yao traditional clothing in modern design elements as a starting point, based on the " less is more " design philosophy, design a unique brand and a series of application case.5) Computer-aided design and handmade:Creating a bunch of works of visual communication design, showing a complete design exhibition.Yao ancient dresses are strongly charming and desirable, understand it and make full use of modern design elements will make the national stage as a gift to the modern design style. Under the impact of globalization, the increasingly violent situation, every nation, every country, everyone is very little to cherish their individuality. This paper seeks to be able to carry forward the national tradition, seeking combined with fashion, the trend of the economy by brand and market integration, enabling it involved into modern social trends among the national cultural heritage and promote the realization of the significance.
