The Study About Hao Pinzhi’S Innovation Of Shangdang Opera

Shangdang watchman’s clapper and Shangdang Laozi arerepresentative local opera in Shangdang area. Many performingartists had emerged during their development process. Hao Pinzhiis one of them. She is good at watchman’s clapper and Laozi. Hermain contribution to Shangdang opera is her constant pursuit ofreform and innovation of the opera, which makes her not only anactor, but also a reformist. She was always exploring the reform inher six decades of artistic path. Her innovations include the tuneand the performance, which changed the original mode andpromoted the development of the Shangdang opera. The success ofher innovation is providing experience and inspiration of the moderndrama’s reform.This paper studies her contribution of the reform which basedon her artistic career, performance characteristics, typical playsand background. As a result, we can get a more comprehensiveunderstanding of the artistic achievements of Hao Pinzhi and thedevelopment status during that time. The most important is that wecan get experience from her reform. The experience is useful forcontemporary actors.This paper discusses her innovation in five parts. The first part discusses her history of innovation, whichincludes growth, maturity and continuity. So that we can get anoverall grasp and clear context about her reform.The second part discusses the content of her reform from twoaspects: the tune and the performance. Then this paper analyzestwo achievements. This paper analyzes her innovation in detail inthis part. The examples are for the richness and credibility of thepaper. I analyze held a banquet in Sanguan and Shi Lidian. Thesetwo plays show Hao’s artistic characteristics, and at the same timeshow the outcomes of her innovation.The third part is about Hao’s source of reform’s awareness. Iseek the elements that have influence on her reform from the operaculture in Lucheng which is her hometown, the opera culture in herfamily, the Jianghe troupe and her personal factors.In the forth part, I analyze Hao’s inspiration for modern drama.She is an exemplar for contemporary opera actors.In this paper, I analyze the content of her innovation roundly andshow her contribution to the Shangdang opera. It is not difficult toget the conclusion that her reform is not giving up the tradition, butadding new content.
