Marcuse is representative of the20th century western leftist intellectuals,he tookadvantage of the critical thinking about alienation of capitalist society and the plightof people living conditions."One dimensional man" is a new turning point in thedevelopment of Marcuse thought,which marks the Marcuse’s philosophy of socialcriticism theory involved Heidegger,Hegel,Marx,and Freud,and finally come intohis own system,which is critical theory of the developed capitalist society. Histhought deeply influenced the later Frankfurt school.In this book, Marcuse deeplycriticized the western industrial society,in which people becoming "one dimensionalman". This book also shows the requirements of people-oriented harmonious thought.This article attempts to rethink Marcuse’s theory of one dimensional,using thecorresponding view on social problems in modern technological society to make someenlightenment.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part of this article is to explain thesignificance of the topic and the literature review,as well as trying to makeinnovations.The second part will put Marcuse’s theory into its historical backgroundand the theoretical background,as well as combing Marcuse thought sources. Thethird part focuses on the interpretation of Marcuse’s One Dimensional theory and itslimitations. The fourth part is the the most realistic content of this article, the idea ofsome of the problems that exist in the current technological society.The fifth partsummarizes Marcuse’s theory,point out it still has vitality and significance in modernphilosophy.
