The armed uprising in Mount. Hei Tieshan under the leadership of Party committee ofShandong province on November26thin1937, is one of the earliest armed uprisings. Ledmainly by Ma Yaonan, Yao Zhongming and Liao Rongbiao, this uprising in Zibo, Shandongprovince made the first move in the armed anti-Japanese uprisings in the central Shandongprovince. This uprising grew into a big one with over6,000people and became an importantpart of the local anti-Japanese guerrilla group of the Eighth Route Army. They played an activerole in raising the confidence in anti-Japanese activities in the north part of Shandong. Thearmed uprising in Mount. Hei Tieshan played a very important role in resisting the Kuomintang(KMT) conservative and crushing the puppet soldiers’ full-scale attack. This uprising alsoworked together with other uprisings in Shandong to build a base area for the anti-Japanesewar, which played a critical role in building the anti-Japanese base areas and wining theanti-Japanese war.This paper consists five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction part. This part mainlyintroduces the status quo of the study in local history and culture because after all, it belongs tothe study of local culture. Then, it explains the uprising in Mount Hei Tieshan from a bigperspective to a small one in order to make a contribution to the study of local history andculture. After this, I will present my way of studying and innovation parts. In the end of thischapter, I will introduce the content of my paper. Chapter two introduces the social andregional background under which Ma Yaonan grew up. This part, taking the historicalbackground into consideration, analyzed Ma Yaonaund from the historical point of view.Chapter three mainly introduces Ma’s thoughts about anti-Japanese activities and saving China.Based on chapter two, this part tells the process in which Ma’s thoughts came into being.Chapter four mainly talks about Ma Yaonan and his uprising activities. It starts with the timewhen Ma Yaonan was the head teacher in a middle school and prepared for the uprising. Then,it introduces his contribution to the base areas. This chapter makes a full study of Ma Yaonanand the uprising. The last chapter evaluates the extraordinary life of Ma Yaonan and brieflytalks about his joining the Kuomintang in order to make the study objectiv...
