A Study On The Scholars’ Associations Of Lingnan Region In Ming Dynasty

Scholars in Ming Dynasty had great interest in association, especially scheolars in Lingnan region. Scholars of Lingnan have great enthusiasm for the association, which was an integral part of their lives. The excellent scholars in Lingnan participated in the association.Compared with literary associations in other regions, the associations in Lingnan had a large amount, a great scale and profound effect, which owned an important role in the association of Ming Dynasty. The development of association was in accordance with that in the whole Ming Dynasty. As a beautiful scenery, associations in Lingnan offer us a useful reference for us to better grasp the development of the associations in Ming Dynasty. Meanwhile, the Scholars’associations in Lingnan have a profound impact on literary style, the Scholars’associations of Lingnan in Qing Dynasty and the local cultural.This paper is divided into three parts,which includes the preface, five parts of body and the conclusion.The preface study on the current situation and research space of the Scholars’associations in Lingnan, which establishes the significance and the value of this thesis.The first chapter discusses the causes of the Scholars’ associations in Ming Dynasty,which sets up the foundation for future study.The second chapter focuses on the evolution of the scholar’s associations of Lingnan in Ming Dynasty, in order to show the characteristics in various stages.The third chapter explores the main activities and characteristics of the scholars’associations of Lingnan in Ming Dynasty, so as to show the distinctions between the Schoiars’s associations in Lingnan and others. The fourth chapter discusses the relationship between the scholar’s association in Lingnan and the Poetry of Lingnan Genres, with the Nanyuan Society in early Ming Dynasty and the Nanyuan association formed by Five individuals in the middle of Ming Dynasty as representations.The fifth chapter interprets the historical status of Lingnan scholar’s associations in Ming Dynasty and reveals its influence to the literature in Lingnan, the scholars’associations of Lingnan in Qing Dynasty and the local cultural of Lingnan region.Part of epilogue summarizes this thesis and discusses the further study space on the topic.
