| This thesis studies the possible reasons for information toss in C-F simultaneous interpretation and its coping tactics based on the Effort Model of Daniel Gile. The author does a simultaneous interpretation experiment and analyzes the data of the experiment to summarize the reasons for information loss. Then the author tries to come up with some coping tactics, and at last verifies these strategies through another experiment.The thesis consists of three parts. The first part introduces simultaneous interpretation and the development of C-F SI in China. The second part is literature review, which mainly introduces the Effort Model of Daniel Gile and the problem triggers for information loss in simultaneous interpretation and then put forward the reasons for writing this thesis. The third part is the main part of the thesis which consists of three parts, namely experiment design, experiment analysis and verification of coping strategies.The experiment is conducted in two rounds in which three students have participated respectively.After the first round of experiment, the author carried out both qualitative and quantitative analysis based Gile’s Effort Model and suggested some coping tactics to improve the performance of interpreters. In the second round, three other students used the tactics suggested by the author to interpret simultaneously from Chinese to French the same material used in the first round. In the end, the author compared the results of the two rounds and verified the effectiveness of the tactics.The essay aims to research on reasons for information loss in C-F simultaneous interpretation and therefore providing suggestions and references for future practices and researches. |
