Nowadays,an increasing number of people want to be an interpreter, without afull understanding of the interpreter’s position. This paper is written under suchbackground,which is of great importance.This is a translation project report on NitsaBen-Ari’s Representations of Translators in Popular Culture, which is the sourcetext. This text belongs to a kind of academic paper that tries to find the value oftranslators and interpreters in the field of literature.The report is made up of fourchapters. The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the project, including itsbackground, significance and structure, while the second chapter explores the originaltext containing the author, the main content and text features. The third chapterfocuses on the difficulties, theory and the relevant skills of translation,includingFunctional Equivalence Theory as the core principle and amplification、omission andconversion.The fourth chapter draws a conclusion about the report, including theexperience and lessons drawn from this project as well as limitations of the study andprospects for further study.
