| Nowadays, all walks of life from all over the world has attached great importance to creative ability, but social creativity has not got enough attention, though it goes hand in hand with individual’s social adjustment and social competence. Thus, the current study applied the social-information-processing model to explore adolescents’ social creativity from the perspective of social cognition, in order to contribute a little to the research of social creativity.Three hundred and ninety-one adolescents were selected from4middle schools in Wuhan City by group sampling to explore their development characteristics of social creativity and social-information-processing and the difference of social-information-processing between adolescents with different level of social creativity, using peer evaluation method, questionnaire survey and open questionnaire of social problem situations. The study results were as follows:1. As to the development characteristic of social creativity, girls scored higher than boys when evaluated by peers, but boys scored higher than girls when evaluated by themselves; senior boys scored higher than junior boys when it was peer evaluation, but junior students scored higher than senior ones when it was self assessment.2. As to the development characteristic of social-information-processing in peer interaction situations, girls performed better than boys and senior students performed better than junior ones on the whole. Boys performed better on the dimensions of originality, self-efficacy and appropriateness assessed by themselves and junior students performed better than senior ones on the dimensions of fluency and flexibility of reaction and appropriateness assessed by themselves.3. Social-information-processing difference existed between the adolescents with high, medium and low levels of social creativity on the stage of interpretation of cues, clarification of goals, response access or construction and response decision.4. Adolescents with high social creativity had their own features on the4stages of interpretation, goal clarification, response access and response decision. Specifically they performed medium level of fluency and high level of flexibility on attribution, high level of appropriateness on goal, medium level of fluency and high level of flexibility, originality, appropriateness, utility on reaction, high level of reasonableness on result anticipation, and high level of self-efficacy on relationship.5. To some extent, the study verified that social creativity had two components in deed:trait social creativity and state social creativity. |
