The Vocal Music Artist Yu Yixuan’s Vocal Music Study

Yixuan Yu is one of the most famous vocal performance artists and vocal educators of the last century. Mrs. Yu’s major influence towards the arts can be seen as the following three parts. First of all, Mrs. Yu was named "The Four Sopranos" with Xiaoyan Zhou etc for her extraordinary achievements as a vocal performance artist in her professional life. She specializes in performing Chinese and Western music, especially the music pieces from the Chinese ethnic groups. The ever popular song "Kangding Love Song", performed by Mrs. Yu, was so well-known that it was included in the collection of "The Top Ten Folk Songs" by the UN. Second of all, as a vocal educator, Mrs. Yu is very dedicated into music education. After years of research and practice, she developed a method called "Yixuan Yu’s Vocal Education". She used the method and educated a lot of outstanding vocalists such as Shuangjiang Li, Xinchang Li etc. As one of the founders of the Chinese vocal art development, she created the Vocal Department in the Central Conservatory of Music and made great contributions to the faculty and the department itself. Finally, she had many thesis papers published in vocal education theories. They were published in the professional journal magazines, such as "Red Flag" and "People’s Music". She was the author of several vocal textbooks such as "The Collection of Chinese Solo Songs"(First, Second Volume),"A Selection of Songs for Vocal Teaching"(First, Second Volume),"A Selection of Songs of Western Opera Aria"(Five Volumes),"Songs from Russia","French Songs"(in collaboration with other authors) and "Vocal Textbook, Chinese Songs"(Six Volumes) etc. Her own published works include her biography "Music and I","The Art of Vocal Performing by Yixuan Yu". She was also the editor in chief of "A Literary Selection of Vocal Performance Art" etc.Mrs. Yixuan Yu dedicated her entire life to the art of vocal performing. Her rigorous attitude towards academia and strong academic spirit gave her the chance to make great achievements in the Chinese vocal performing history.
