There is so much phenomenon of tied for using about multi-appellation in Chinese(They are composed of two or more independent appellation),for example,"police+uncle、nurse+miss、beauty+teacher" and so on, this paper uses this special language phenomenon as the object of study,and proceeds multi-angle research.The article is divided into six chapters mainly.Chapter one summarizes and analyses the research theory and results about the appellation in brief,both in China and abroad.Chapter two defines the concept and range of the appellation.Only when the independent appellation of the multi-appellation tied for using is subordinate relationship, and can be appellation on its own, also refers to the same object with the entirety, it can be called"multi-appellation tied for using’Chapter three classifies the types and formations of the multi-appellation tied for using, on the basis of the appellation’s types, and analyses their general characteristics. We also discuss two main differentiation. One is if their sequence of combination is reversible or not; another is whether or not they can be "calling words".Chapter four discusses the relationship between the multi-appellation tied for using and historic culture. It is closely related to social culture. with the development of society, some old multi-appellation tied for using is eliminated which can not fit in with social demands, but the new continually raising.Chapter five discusses the reason why multi-appellation tied for using can violate language’s economic principle and substitute independent appellation from the the perspective of pragmatics.
