The Study Of The Ancient Chinese Title

The research of appellation in ancient times is an organic part of the research of the name and description of a thing. Appellation words is not only about linguistic science ,but also closely get touch with law .etiquette and custom. Because Chinese traditional culture has extensive knowledge and profound scholarship, peoples at all times and in all lands have carefully studied and analyzed Chinese appellation. Neither traditional exegesis method nor more scientific language-culture method has made these scholars get certain achievements. But we should pay attention to the shortcomings of appellation-research such as they are short of making a systematic study of word-formation's rational basis and taking appellation-system seriously at the same time. Followed by Chinese reference books being hard to clarify the rational foundation, these shortcomings make the explanation to appellation look like right but they are not or contradict in what they have explained. In view of this situation, the article deals with the research of appellation in ancient times which are divided into three chapters to explore. In the first two chapters, this article put relative appellation and social communication appellation into different categories to prove into While comprehensively explaining every appellation or every set of appellations, I try my best to take advantage of the method of combination language with culture to comprehensively and deeply reveal the rational basis of make-word and word-formation in order to illustrate the entire process of original meaning-making and extended meaning as also as phonetic loan homophones meaning word-building. In the meantime, many synonyms are differentiated and analyzed. In the third chapter, the content of the first two chapters are summarized and classified. Making use of the theory of the rational basis of make-word and word-formation, 284 single syllabic words and 864 complex tone words whose proportion is 1:3 are classified into research. The result reflects three situations which coincide with the word-formation situation of the pre-Qin days. The first is that proportion gives expression to the development tendency of words in the pre-Qin days. The second is that to single syllabic word extension is the most important word- making's method. The last is that complex tone words are made up by nine kinds of word-formation methods which are attributes-head structure, head-attributes structure, compound structure, additive adjuncts structure, verd-object structure, appositive structure, subjects-predicate structure, suo zi structure and verb -additive adjuncts structure. Attributes-head structure and compound structure are two main word-formation ways which occupy a dominant position absolutely.
