Generally speaking, this paper aims at researching audiences’receptive psychology of female-subject royal court drama. Nowadays, the fact that female-subject royal court drama is full of our screen with its old-fashioned and vulgar plot, the feature of beautifying feudal and outdated conception, the characteristic of lack of cultural connotation and aesthetic considerations has been receiving criticism among critics. However, creators still turn a deaf ear to the complaint and continue their own way. Meanwhile, however; some audiences persist in rushing for it. This gives rise to the following two questions:What is the audiences’receptive psychology? What cultural symptoms present in the process of accepting? Based on these questions, the paper consists of four parts. In the introduction section, the research reasons, the present condition of research on royal court drama and the meaning and method of the study are illustrated. In the first chapter, the audiences’types and characteristics are analyzed; in addition, the constituent and receptive features of female-subject royal court drama would be described respectively. The second chapter aims at making research about audiences’receptive psychology from the perspective of their feedback. It is based on the feedback texts in Baidu Post Bar and Douban Website and some other websites, besides it analyzes from three aspects, namely, accepting motives, specialized accepting interest and professional appreciating attitude. The last chapter, chapter three is for the illustration of the cultural symptom in the process of accepting royal court drama in terms of contents of the feedback and receptive psychology from three sides, they are over consumption of history, the resurgence of decadent sense and the vicious cycle of cultural communication. It is known that audiences are always acculturated, that explains the cause of the current chaos in TV culture, which is not the decreasing of audiences’ aesthetic taste but the TV show creators’lack of proper creating guidance and sense of responsibility. They produce homogeneous and vulgar programs and TV series to present viewers with strong stimulation, which leads to the vicious spread cycle of TV culture. This paper will adopt the method of case study and specific analysis of the questionnaire in order to identify the symptoms of female-subject royal court drama and current defects of TV cultural transmission. It also means to arouse the attention of creative community as well as creators’sense of responsibility. The reason for this lies in that only with the cooperation of creators and critics can the impetuous current television culture be purified.
