A Study On The Press Conference From The Perspective Of Interpretive Approach

The press conference is commonly regarded as a window to letpeople all around the world understand the development of Chinesepolitics and economy and thus get the close attention of the people. Thepress conference of two sessions---the National People’s Congress (NPC)and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Congress (CPPCC)---should be attached great importance. The appropriate translation can helpthe world to understand China well, and provide a favorable opportunityfor China to promote the status in the world arena.This report was based on interpretive approach, the translationpractice, the contrastive analysis of the texts, the reductive summing-up,generalization and summarization and other research method. This reporthas summarized the exercisable interpreting strategy for the report on thepress conference, improve skill level of interpretation, and enhance theactual ability of interpretation. This report was based on the audio andvideo data of Press Conference of2012, discussed the interpretinginformation of the interpreter, as well as explained the oral interpretationskill, analyzed the interpreting process so as to improve the translationquality of the interpreting information.The translation of the report consists of five parts: Part oneintroduces the background of the purpose and significance of translationof the report. Part two is mainly on the current status of press conference. Part three analyzes the theoretical foundation, interpretive approach. Partfour summarizes the examples used in this interpretation project, as wellas the interpretation skill. Part five analyzes the conclusion.
