The Investigation And Research On Xiangfen’s Ancient Stages

Xiangfen county is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province.There are the famous paleolithic "Ding Village Culture", the ancientsites of the capital of Jin State, the ancient architectural complexes.And in many cultural relics there are a lot of temples, in which manystages are important parts.The stages are the convince of DingTaoancient architecturals.Xiangfen county has a long history, and has a tradition of dramaperformances since ancient times. In2012the county was awardedthe Drama Town. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the diverse ofXiangFen’s drama and actors’ enrichment promoted the flourishing ofdrama. Correspondingly, the flowering stages almost covered everyvillage. Today in Xiangfen countryside there are still a large number ofremains, basically where there is a village, there is a temple; wherethere is a temple, there is a stage.And some of which are very typical.Due to the damage during the "Cultural Revolution" and disrepair,many stages have been broken, even destroyed.The author hascarried on the on-the-spot investigation and found there are31ancient existing stages in Xiangfen county.In this paper, first of all, on the basis of consulting a large numberof literature, the detailed research has been done on the background of all the factors about drama.Having researched31ancient stages,the distribution and preservation conditions of the ancient stages areintroduced in details. Secondly, the research aim to know thearchitectural form of ancient stages in XiangFen are analyzedspecifically on the background of the ancient stages in XiangFencounty and the development. And only one ancient stage is Nationalkey cultural relics protection units,3County-level cultural relicsprotection units and27ancient stages are not confirming Level ofprotection of cultural relics.Third, Combined with some examples, thesystematic study and analysis have been done on of the main types,spatial layout, plane partition, and decorative art of the ancientstages. Finally, explain the relation of the couplets’ connotations ofthe existing ancient stages and traditional opera.The ancient stages in Xiangfen county are the valuable culturalheritage of the Dingtao, whose emergence and development areaffected by the local geographical environment, economicenvironment, cultural environment, the religion, folk customs andother aspects. Thus it is not only the carrier to research the localopera of Xiangfen county and the regional culture of Ding Tao, but alsothe example to research the XiangFen’s buildings. For the protectionof the ancient stages, in addition to the simple rescue and repair, weshould also inherit and carry forward them. Only in this way can wepass down the precious cultural heritage.
