Liu Yong is a Ci poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, who was thefirst to greatly innovate the Ci poems. Song poetry changed a lot inhis works. There are many various comments about his workswhich some of Ci critics appreciate while more critics depreciatefor many Suci created by him.There are120Ci are Suci in Liu’s collected works of Yue ZhangJi. Form the content, his Suci can be divided into the erotic ci, thelove ci and the urban festival ci. The number of each category islisted as follows: the erotic ci are about60, the love ci are about30,and the urban festival ci are about30. This thesis takes the120Suciof Liu as the research objects and conducts an in-depth analysisand research. The body part of the thesis consists of three parts:The first part analyzes and researches the lyric subject in Liu’sSuci. In his Suci, the lyric subject has a change that the previous"endorsement" lyric pattern is shifted as the "self" lyric pattern.The "self" lyric subject gets vulgarized: it is a loving husband in thelove ci, the prodigal in the erotic ci and leisurely wanderer in theurban festival ci.The second part discusses the emotional characteristics inLiu’s Suci. The Ci poet expresses his deep love for his wife, his admiration for the prostitutes and his praise and love for themetropolitan style and their festivals.The third part researches the artistic personality in Liu’s Suci.The research is mainly conducted from the following four aspects:image, expression means, language, style of Suci. Liu often takesthe secular images in his poems, which mainly include the rich andeasy image groups, raunchy images and descriptive images; Themajor methods of artistic expression include the incisive and vividelaboration, the plain and unadorned line drawing, the smoothDianran; The Ci poet uses many vulgar ci and common sayings andhe also repeatedly uses a large vocabulary to manifest the vulgarityin his Suci; Finally, this thesis researches the plain, kitsch andvulgar style and the aesthetic value in Liu’s Suci.
