A Brief Analysis Of The Application Of The Interpretive Theory To Interpretation

Three American CEOs were invited to make speeches at Ningxia University and Beifang University of Nationalities. The author was the interpreter for them. This report focuses on analyzing the guidance of the Interpretive Theory on interpretation. The interpretation task and process is introduced in the first part of this report. The first part discusses the background of the interpretation task, preparation, and interpretation process. The second part introduces the main ideas of the Interpretive Theory. The third part demonstrates with specific examples that, under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory, four interpretive strategies were used by the author. The unresolved problems and relevant thoughts are discussed in the last part of this report.
