The study is focused on art form of Chaoyang Ying-ge dance which is existed in Chaoyang District of Shantou city in Guangdong province on the basis of seeking history records and research achievements. Under the influence of marine and Chaoshan culture, and the perspective of folklore, this article is aimed to discuss the origin, spread, variation and development of Ying-ge dance in vertical, also horizontally explore the culture connotation which is endowed with the Ying-ge art form and the dance feature. Meanwhile, this paper is created as a result of the field visit and deep analysis of the culture from the outside to the inside by the author.This paper can be divided into six parts. The introduction shows the reason of topic selection, the purpose, the significant, the method, the material and the basic thoughts of this research. In chapter one, it’s a quick overview of the background and current situation, also a statement of various viewpoints of origin and development of Ying-ge dance. Besides, this part presents the own opinion of the author. In chapter two, on the basis of the field investigation of Ying-ge art form played by team Houxi Ying-ge in Chaoyang District of Shantou city, this paper states the conformation character and cultural function in terms of dance human cultures, folklore and sociology. In chapter three, it’s a description of the performing style of the Ying-ge dance and the gorgeous Ying-ge Team. In addition, this chapter shows the contemporary development situation of Ying-ge dance. In chapter four, it put forward several practical advices and thoughts about protecting folk arts according to the variation and creation trend of contemporary Ying-ge art form. Conclusion, The main contents contained by this thesis is generalized and summarized.
