Nuo dance, which plays with a mask, aimed at praying and pleasing God, is a folk ritualactivity that found in Zhong Village, Ningdu Country of Gannan area. It is the only found Nuoculture heritage in Gannan Hakka area which presented in the form that is original, rough, quaintand entertaining. There are character, plot and dialogue in the traditional folk art performance, onwhich takes pristine image by wearing masks and mouth muttering incantations. Nuo dance ofNingdu Village contains widely historical and cultural value including folk, art, religious andothers. Also, it is the Hakka traditional culture treasure which reflects the Hakka people’s mode ofthinking and value orientation.This paper takes the Zhong Village, Huangshi Town of Ningdu Country in Gannan area asthe research object. By put the Nuo dance in the multidimensional system, through detailed fieldwork, a macroscopic, historical, comprehensive inspection could be made. The author makescollection, carding and classify of the Nuo dance culture during the folk sacrificial ceremony,trying to present the forms, features and morphological characteristics dimensionally. It reveals thecharacteristics in folklore ceremony ultimately as well as the deeper hidden cultural connotationand value function behind the dancing.The paper consists of introduction, four chapters and the conclusion. The introduction partmainly describes the background of the topic, research status, the purpose and method. The firsttwo chapters mainly describe the relevant situation about Zhong Village of Ningdu and the Nuodance, making documentary and analysis about the dancing procedures and typical range. Chapterthree is the main point of this paper, the author tries to make chapter one and two which focus onthe relevant data as the basement, use the data and research methods, to interpret from concretedescription to the level of cultural significance. With the view of exploring the contemporarychange and cause about the Nuo dance in Ningdu Village in contemporary social culture, Chapterfour concepts to its development with the prospects named “cultural consciousness”.
