The21st century, with the advent of the era of experience economy, travelling demand of tourists has changed that tourists tend to choose more personalized tourism products and services. The new trend of tourism has brought opportunities and challenges for industrial heritage protection and tourism development. For industrial heritage tourism in China started later, the relevant theoretical research just stay related present situation, the mode and strategy to explore, while the further refine research literature from the perspective of tourists is still even fewer. Lag of the theory also limits the development of the practice, some industrial heritage tourism scenic area in our country exists some development bottleneck, such as unknown planning theme, repetitive and low utilization rate of the scenic area facilities. Therefore, this topic will take the major players in the tourism market-high degree of involvement in industrial heritage tourists as the research population, with symbols of the tourists on landscape perception as the guidance, and mainly discuss the industrial heritage tourism landscape typical symbolic elements and tourists emotional cognitive effects.First, the article defines the connotation of industrial heritage and tourism from the theory on the basis of summarizing the relevant research results at home and abroad, which is the basis of the research papers and the foothold. At the same time, this paper will be based on theory of semiotics in some related research content to deepen the understanding this article, therefore the current theory research results and related concepts are expounded. Considering the particularity of industrial heritage tourists, the study did not adopt the traditional market research methods, but with the current international frontier ZMET (Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique, referred to ZMET) for sampling analysis of target groups, aiming to dig out the tourists’inner deep underlying emotional cognitive needs to the industrial heritage tourism landscape. So in this paper, the origin, theory assumes, application and advantages and disadvantages of metaphor extract technology are introduced systematically. Second, this article will take the design and analysis of ZMET as a key content of this research, firstly, we have carried on the work of information collection, including sample selection, preparation of front.Secondly, in depth interviews will be adopted to get the most real interview material, then combing of the characteristics of the study sample is to extract key emotional cognitive construct from visitors about industrial heritage tourism landscape symbol and build the consensus of each construct item with the mental model figure, which is also ZMET research results display. This topic research has paid to three kinds of typical symbolic elements,that is,comfortable landscape, tourism transformation landscape and leisure entertainment landscape, and six emotional cognitive subjects, respectively is:joy, shock, nostalgia, imagine, praise, curiosity; And there is found that the gender differences and age differences of tourists is evident on the cognition of industrial heritage landscape symbol. Besides, tourists stress that "authenticity" experience of industrial heritage tourism.Third, based on the results of extraction technology for the theory of metaphor, this paper puts forward the symbols application and marketing strategy that should be paid attention to during the process of industrial heritage tourism planning. Such as refining topics and dig out tourism value; Using the authenticity of symbols to build the place spirit; Exploring the symbolic value of coupling and enhancing interactive role.
