| In recent years, Chinese teaching has developed rapidly in Finland.To some extent, this has increased the demand of the teachers who teach FinnsChinese and Finnish learners of Chinese for the research findings of TeachingChinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language. Finnish and Chinese belong to differenttypes of grammatical structures. They are quite different from each other ingrammar. So the importance of the researches of the grammar teaching of TeachingChinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language cannot be ignored. Contrastive Linguisticsis a subject with a task of doing a contrastive analysis of two languages. It has adegree of instructive significance for Second Language Teaching. Therefore, thisthesis was based on the theory of Contrastive Linguistics, and chose Finnish andChinese grammar as the object of contrastive studies, thereby finding thedifferences and similarities between the two. In addition, we applied the findings tothe grammar teaching of Teaching Chinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language andhoped that it can make some instructive effect on the grammar teaching of TeachingChinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language.Firstly, this thesis did a contrastive analysis of Finnish and Chinese from twoaspects of lexis and syntax under the direction of the theories of ContrastiveLinguistics and Grammar, thereby revealing the differences and similarities betweenthe two languages in grammar. Secondly, this thesis forecast the possible difficultiesand easiness in the grammar teaching of Teaching Chinese as the Finns’ ForeignLanguage via the differences and similarities between Finnish and Chinese grammarwhich was revealed by the contrastive analysis on the basis of the transfer theory ofSecond Language Acquisition. It may make the teachers who teach Finns Chinese and Finnish learners of Chinese have a definite object in view while teaching orlearning. Finally, this thesis investigated the difficulties that were encountered byFinnish learners of Chinese in the practical application of Chinese grammar and thedifferences of the Chinese proficiency of Finnish learners of Chinese in two cases(whether they used the findings of contrastive studies of Finnish and Chinesegrammar as the direction). The results, to some extent, demonstrated the predictivecapability of the contrastive analysis of Finnish and Chinese grammar in thegrammar teaching of Teaching Chinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language, andillustrated the Chinese grammar teaching under the direction of the findings ofcontrastive studies of Finnish and Chinese grammar may has a positive effect onimproving the Chinese grammar proficiency of Finnish learners of Chinese.This thesis is mainly divided into several parts as follows:Part1, introduction, mainly introducing the purpose, the significance and thetheoretical foundations of the study, and summarizing the correlative researchfindings.Part2, making a contrastive study of Finnish and Chinese lexis from threeaspects of word-formation, parts of speech and morphology.Part3, making a contrastive study of Finnish and Chinese syntax from fouraspects of grammatical means, sentence categories, sentence patterns and sentencestyles.Part4, discussing the application of the findings of contrastive studies ofFinnish and Chinese grammar in the grammar teaching of Teaching Chinese as theFinns’ Foreign Language from two aspects of negative transfer and positive transfer.Part5, investigating and testing Finnish learners of Chinese by questionnairesto demonstrate the predictive capability and the positive effect of the findings ofcontrastive studies of Finnish and Chinese grammar in the grammar teaching ofTeaching Chinese as the Finns’ Foreign Language.Part6, conclusion, summing up the research findings in the whole thesis. |
