Research The Interference Of Governor Legion In Domestic Affairs In Early Republican Period

In this paper, the author selects Governor Legion interference indomestic affairs in Northern period as the research object. The paper mainly discussesprevious meetings held before and after the establishment of the “Governor Legion” andagitation of Zhang Xun Restoration. It also discusses intervene to sort out the German warcase, and public opinion in that times. Then, the paper analyzes the response to China’smilitary of intervention in Southwest warlords as well as Japan and other countries. Thehistory of "Governor Legion” reconstruction is also discussed in this paper.There are six chapters in this paper. The first chapter is an introduction. Thedevelopment of "governors" system is a clue in the second chapter. It analyzes the reason ofgovernor’s importance in late Qing Dynasty and the impact of "the military joint" interferencein domestic affairs in early Republican period. Chapter three mainly to explore therelationship of interference in domestic affairs between the “governors combined” and“Governor Legion” in the period of1911-1916.In the fourth chapter, the author discusses theprevious meetings held by the Legion of Christ and Zhang Xun’s restoration to interfere in thecase of war on Germany. Then, it analyzes the rebuilding activities of the Legion of Christ.Inthe fifth chapter, the author analysis activities and comparison of “Governor Legion”. It alsoexplores the causes of split from inception to underlying and the influence of their activitieson the real political.The sixth chapter is a conclusion. It is trying to explore the reason of military power incivilization society of late Qing Dynasty and the behavior of social "governors joint"interference in domestic affairs. It also analyzes the behavior of “Governor Legion”interference in domestic affairs in the early Republic of Democratic Republic Society.Theauthor found that due to the confusion of central political, Duan is secretly control theactivities of the Governor Legion. Therefore,“Governor Legion” activities can be understoodas against the president by the Prime Minister. So it seems that the behavior of “GovernorLegion “is not completely interfere the domestic affairs.In addition, The behavior of“Governor Legion” is criticized in the public opinion at that time and future research. However, the author still found some advantages in the behavior of “Governor Legion”. Thediscovery of these two issues, perhaps it can provide some new thinking for future research.
