The Wangmen (the disciples of Wang Anshi) was a very important literati group like Oumen (the disciples of Ouyang Xiu) and Sumen (the disciples of Su Shi) in the middle Northern Song Dynasty. Their impact was enormous in many ways. They were linked up by their teacher’s scholarship and politics, however the politics was much more important. Most of them were good at literature. Based on the history books, we want to draw a map of Wangmen and find out each person’s situation.Because of the different attitude to the Xi’ning politics by Wang Anshi, Wangmen split into several factions. They were not a party or a solid group as the later said. People in Wangmen did not blindly followed their teacher. They had different political ideas while they always opposed the new deal as they were served as Remonstrations. Since many of them worked as key positions in later government, the policy of the whole country changed now and then. The literature of Wangmen also was affected. All of these were because of the division.Although most of them gained literary reputation at their time, their anthology is not retained well now. A few pieces of works found in Quan Song Wen, Quan Song Shi and Quan Song Ci can help us take a glance of their literary achievements. Zeng Bu and Shu Dan had made contributions to the development of Songci. Lu Dian’s chanting poems are in high level. Zheng Xia’s works represent the Wangmen’s feature:the words of poems were natural and plain.
