This paper does a research on Lee Dragon Mother’s (person) belief in Shandong village, Wendeng County, Shandong Province, using a combination of literature review and fieldwork. The bald tail Lee Dragon King (god) is an universal belief in Shandong, and the unique worship of Lee Dragon Mother also exists in Jiaodong region. The paper takes those characteristics of faith as a starting point. It introduces in detailing way the status of Lee Dragon Mother believes’s existence, and makes an effort to investigate its causes.2012Huilong Mountain fair is taking such a basic fieldwork, combined with a large number of relevant historical documents, some related legends and ritual activities are introduced and explained. By analyzing the local environment, the public memory, the strengthen ceremony belief and the traditional filial piety culture inheritance, the paper demonstrates the close relationship between Lee Dragon Mother belief and people’s life.From a structural point of view, the paper is divided into the following six parts:The first part is an introduction, explaining the origin of the topics, the literature review, the research methods and fieldwork. The literature review mainly includes three aspects:the study about Dragon Mother belief, the research on the Confucian filial piety culture as well as the institute for ceremonies and cultural heritage. Furthermore, the research on Dragon Mother belief in Lingnan region is a great significance to this article.The second part describes the local environment of Lee Dragon Mother belief, mainly to introduce the hometown of the bald tail dragon’s legend, including Wendeng County, Songcun Town and Huilong Mountain. The natural and social environment of these areas are different in sizes but are all closely linked to Lee Dragon Mother belief.The third part makes use of literature analysis combined with fieldwork to explain the popular memory of Lee Dragon Mother belief. This part analyzes the legends and some monuments of Dragon Mother belief, and it also explains the reasons of Dragon Mother beliefs formation in Jiaodong area. As an important branch of bald tail legend, the Lee Dragon Mother legend in Jiaodong has formed a certain characteristics legend because of the location of Dragon Mother’s original grave. The legendary filial affection "dragon does not leave its mother" also promotes people to produce more and more faith to Lee Dragon Mother. Meanwhile, in Wendeng people’s hearts, the Lee Dragon King still survives in the world, which has made Wendeng people pay more attention to Lee Dragon Mother’s birthday to a certain degree.The fourth part is a comprehensive introduction to Huilong mountain fair with first-hand information by fieldwork. First at all, the original mountain fair and its historical evolution is organized in this part, according to the records in literature; Secondly, a detail introduction of the Huilong mountain fair in2012is made, including the worship with incense of the grave, sacrificial ceremony, cultural performances, Dragon Mother’s banquet,etc; Finally, the main function of the mountain fair is simply analyzed including: people’s psychology, people’s cohesion, urban and rural economic development,etc.The fifth part probes into the fusion about Lee Dragon Mother belief and filial piety culture. Filial piety culture is an important culture contained in Lee Dragon Mother belief. From the legend plots such as "Birth of Dragon King""visit the Dragon Mother""moving the grave to protect her", to the Dragon Mother banquet and other programs in the mountain fair, the filial piety culture is full of them. Not only that, many daily folk in filial activities are well reproduced by the traditional culture of filial piety in Shandong village.Finally, the epilogue part is summing up from the original full text, which also reveals the lasting vitality of dissemination of Lee Dragon Mother belief.
