Jin conquered Liao and Northern Song Dynasty since it was founded. The Jin dynasty ruled the north China for one hundred and twenty years, and it had long-term confrontation with the Southern Song Dynasty. The rulers of Jin absorbed Han culture and formed its unique culture during that period. As we know, literature is the typical aspect of a culture. Therefore in the thesis, we try to study the Jin Dynasty literature through the geographical view. The research mainly focuses on three aspects:the distribution of writers’native place, the writers’dynamic distribution, and the writers’psychological behaviors.Based on the statistics of the writers’native place, we find the characteristics of the geographical pattern is unbalance and aggregate. The concentrated areas of the authors are south Hedong, west Hebei and Zhongdu, these places are located in today’s Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces. While there are few writer in other places..Though unevenly distribution of the writers, each region has its own writers. In a sense, writers from the remote areas have endowed the literature with the bordered life. Besides, some elite literature family, such as Liu’s family of Hunyuan, Yuan’s family of Xiurong, Bian’s family of Fengzhou, made momentous impetus to boom the development of the Jin Dynasty literature.Regarding the dynamic distribution pattern of writers, the literature have three major centers and three minor centers. Jin Dynasty totally had three capitals since it moved the capital city two in1153and1214respectively. These three capitals are Shangjing, Zhongdu and Bianjing. They are certainly three major centers of literature owing to cultural activities such as pursuing studies, fulfilling duties, seclusion and social activities as making friends ect. Correspondingly, there are three minor centers, namely, Weiqi, Nanjing and Luoxi. Literary creation and literary activities in these major centers and minor centers showed their distinct styles, which jointly wrote a new chapter in Jin Dynasty literature.Writers’ cultural psychology is in close associated with the Literature Geography in Jin Dynasty. In fact, Literature Geography can be explained as a kind of regional memory or spatial memory in writers’ heart which can greatly influence the literature creation. Further, regional memory is not limited to geographical features, cultural landscape or customs, it is the cultural spirit of a region. Gradually this cultural spirit grows into a culture complex which lives in writers’ heart forever. We know that at the begin of Jin Dynasty, the writers of the Han nationality were the principal part of writers in Jin Dynasty. The reason why they could accept and protect the Jurchen regime and the exotic culture is because they had the Chinese complex in their hearts. This Chinese cultural identity had an important influence on the Jin Dynasty literature.Jin Dynasty had its own history and literature,In order to obtain a better knowledge of Jin Dynasty literature, one should study it from both the temporal and spatial dimensions.
