The Literature Research On Ancient Inscriptions On Bronze

Ancient inscriptions on bronze are one of the original styles of Chinese ancient literature.Traditional research on the bronze inscriptions mostly concentrates on the bronzes dating,historical research, the text explanation and the punctuation and other issues, attentions on thesocial and historical and the literature value are seldom. Bronze inscriptions as a style ofliterature, the literature value is one aspect that can not be ignored, the study of bronzeinscriptions literature value is one of the great significance for us to explore the origin ofancient literature development. This paper is based on the previous results on text explanationand the punctuation of bronze inscriptions, to discuss the literature value of bronze inscriptions.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part is the introduction, mainly introduces thestages, conditions of bronze inscriptions unearthed and handed down and the literature valueand significance of bronze inscriptions.The second part introduces the literary style. The literary style objects of study are thelong proses in bronze inscriptions. Stylistic study later than bronze inscriptions, besides theproses in bronze inscriptions are the initial stage of the prose history, so all the prose types arefound in bronze inscriptions is impossible, and the bronze inscriptions could not fully complywith the style standards later. The literary styles we researched are limited to the proses withobvious characteristics, such as command style, investiture style, oaths, argumentative styleetc.The third part is the bronze inscriptions of prose, is the emphases of this article. Proses arethe majority of bronze inscriptions. This section contains three aspects: narration, lyric andargumentum. We pay more attention to the narration, this part include two aspects: contents andcharacteristics. Lyric and argumentum appeared in later period, following the development ofthe narration. The lyric is combined together with the narrative to make up one article;argumentum is rare in the bronze inscriptions.The fourth part is the bronze inscriptions in rhyme. Be different from the research of prose,this part is comparatively mature. Many achievements acquired from the rhyme research andrhyme cases of bronze inscription. This part is based on these achievements to discuss the bronze inscriptions in rhyme.The fifth part is the production and dissemination of bronze inscriptions, and it is also thebright point of this paper. In the first place, bronze inscriptions are considered as ordinaryliterature, the process includes creative motivation, the productive process, and thedissemination process. Secondly, as a kind of special literature form, bronze inscriptions has itsspecial characteristic. This particularity is seen from the creative motivation and thedissemination process.
