In Terpretation Of The Formation And Translation Of Internet Neologism From Pound’s Perspective On "Language Energy"

This paper mainly deals with the formation of internet neologisms and their translation in the view of Pound’s "language energy". Pound’s perspective on "language energy" maintains that, with energy and the "electricity" between words, words of new combination will generate new meanings. Internet neologisms are semantic variants under network environment, whose emergence is the result of the continuous development and movement of their energy.At the present time, the continuous appearance of new expressions and words is the best manifestation of "language energy". People from all walks of life increasingly pay attention to these new words and expressions, especially those taking up professions that are related to language. Interpretation of the energy changing and related translating methods in the generation of internet neologisms from the perspective of Pound’s "language energy" will contribute to the understanding of contemporary people’s way of thinking and the general law of people’s cognition of the world.Conducting research on network neologisms from the point of Pound’s "language energy" is particularly helpful in understanding the changing of language. During the course of language revolution, various methods of network words formation result in numerous neologisms. The writer tries to illustrate the forming process of new network words from the following three aspects, i.e. existing words bearing new senses, internet words by coinage and internet words by parody, which will enable linguists or professors who take interest in language to learn more about the latest trend of word revolution and therefore help them to induct prevailing ways of new word creation and direct the appropriate utilization of neologisms.When transforming into other languages, it is of great significance to translate internet neologisms in a proper and precise way, both in written and in colloquial communication. Based on Pound’s theory of "language energy", this paper puts forward three translation principles and strategies for translators. Besides, under the guidance of Pound’s concept, translators should fulfill their subjectivity in the process of translation and translate the connotation of internet neologisms out of the form of language accurately.
