This dissertation uses eye tracker to record eight parameters of eye movement including improvement of reading time, times of twitching of the eyelid, the numbers of fixation, the current saccade average velocity, the current saccade duration and etc. During the process, comparisons are made between the eye movement features of reading English materials of Mongolian-speaking students and mandarin-speaking students. Also, thorough analysis is given to Mongolian students’ English reading ability, level, cognitive pattern and characteristics according to four experimental results, digging into cognitive processing features and reading psychological characteristics of Mongolian and Han students’ reading English materials. Results according to psychological statistic method:1) Eye movement contrail of reading English materials varies greatly among Mongolian students from different grades. Senior students show an obvious advantage over junior ones, for their more flexible reading and learning skills as well as their larger stocks of vocabulary.2) Senior Han students have a better reading habits and eye movement strategies. They are more sensitive at grasping keywords and more explicit on reading. Question-oriented reading method is used to improve the efficiency of reading.3) High level Mandarin-speaking university students possess better English levels than high level Mongolian-speaking university students. High level university students with different mother tongues have a lot in difference in many indexes.4) Due to different factors like study time, language environment, cultural background and etc., junior han students’English levels are higher than those of junior Mongolian students. Conclusion:Through contrasting English levels, we can say that the perceptual spans of reading of senior students, Mongolian and Han, are greater than those of junior students and senior students have better reading habits and eye movement strategies. After comparing different ethnic groups, major differences were found between the Mongol nationality and the Han nationality in terms of many indexes, which is also the case when it comes to junior Mongolian and Han students. Senior/Junior Mongolian students are not as good as senior/junior Han students in terms of reading strategy and eye movement strategy, which directly relates to their psychological activities when reading. Here are the main reasons causing those differences. First, different familiarities toward targeted essays; secondly, limitations set by different writing systems and code switching; lastly, barriers of different social and linguistic backgrounds.
